Everything you need to know about running with us.
All abilities are welcome! Whether you are a seasoned ultra athlete or someone just starting out on the trails and looking for support, we've got you covered. We ensure nobody is left behind, supporting you every step of the way.
You are welcome to join one of our weekday group runs for free as a trial to see if our club is the right fit for you. If you enjoy the experience and wish to attend more, we kindly ask that you become a paid member to help support the club.
Trail running shoes with good grip are needed year-round. A head torch is essential in autumn/winter, and always bring a waterproof jacket during the colder months, regardless of the forecast.
Non-members joining a run must introduce themselves to a team member beforehand to provide basic contact details.
Our sessions cater to various abilities. Midweek runs typically offer a choice between two distances, usually around 8km and 10km. Our weekend long runs are generally longer than two hours. With multiple ability groups in every session, there's an option suitable for everyone.
We operate a "no runner left behind" policy. A run leader always stays near the back, and we regroup at every gate and trail junction to ensure everyone's safety. Should you find the pace of a speedier group too challenging, please inform your run leader and they will help you move back to the group behind.
Our annual membership is £25.00, providing excellent value as it lasts for a full 12 months from your joining date, unlike many clubs that expire in April. We also offer a joint membership for two adults living in the same household for £40.00.
Membership fees cover all our sessions, including both workouts and long runs.
You get access to guided routes, structured training, social events, and a community of like-minded trail enthusiasts. Membership also provides discounted entry fees for UK trail races, retail discounts at running stores, and reduced rates for coaching services.
Membership takes only a few minutes! Simply complete our short online registration form. We accept all major credit and debit cards — no need for the hassle of printing and signing physical documents!
Dogs are not permitted on club runs for safety and insurance reasons. Our UK Athletics affiliation means that including dogs would invalidate our insurance without exhaustive risk assessments for every session. We do not currently have the capacity to manage these additional requirements while ensuring the safety of all members and the public.
We run in most weather conditions. If the trails are deemed dangerous due to severe weather (high winds or extreme ice etc), we will post a cancellation notice in our WhatsApp community and on our social channels as soon as possible.
During winter months (October to March), a head torch and high-visibility clothing are mandatory for all evening runs for your safety.
Our sessions are all guided by experienced trail runners, including insured coaches and run leaders. Our coaches and leaders hold UK Athletics qualifications and are also first aid certified.
